Teaching/L’Enseigenement

As researchers, I believe it is our responsibility to transmit our’s and others’ research to the broader community. I take this responsibility to heart, and I really enjoy teaching to a wide-range of indivduals, and I challenge myself to meet their diverse skillsets.

Je crois qu’il est la responsabilité des chercheurs et chercheuses de transmettre nos recherches et celles des autres à l’ensemble de la communauté. Je prends cette responsabilité à cœur, et j’aime vraiment enseigner à un large éventail de personnes, et je me mets au défi de répondre à leurs diverses compétences.

Here are selected examples, I:

• guest-lectured or co-instructed genetics-related graduate-level human genetics courses at the Université de Montéal and University of Michigan
• volunteered as a mentor for high school students through the Ontario Online Research Co-op program,
• supervised a group of undergraduate students in the six-week Big Data Summer Institute at the University of Michigan, and

Writing/l’Écriture

In addition to research and teaching, I like to make time for my other passion: passing on information through writing. I enjoy writing about scientific and non-scientific topics. / En plus de la recherche et de l’enseignement, j’aime consacrer du temps à mon autre passion : transmettre l’information par l’écriture. J’aime écrire sur des sujets scientifiques et non scientifiques.
